Blizzard confirmed Classic Plus at BlizzCon 2026’s Opening Ceremony on September 12. It’s called World of Warcraft: Forever, it launches November 4, 2026, and it runs as a permanent third version of the game alongside modern WoW and existing Classic — level cap staying at 60, growing outward with new content instead of climbing higher.
This is the roundup piece — headline facts and links to full coverage of each specific part.
It’s Real, and Blizzard Said the Words
Near the end of the Opening Ceremony, Blizzard President Johanna Faries confirmed on stage what the community had been calling Classic Plus for years actually has a name: World of Warcraft: Forever. “Yes, yes, yes, yes, this is Classic Plus,” she said, as a cinematic depicting the original vanilla cinematic dwarf and his bear crossing old Azeroth closed out on stage.
The reveal came after a countdown to November 4 appeared on the venue screens — the actual release date, given with unusual specificity for a project the community has speculated about for years.
The Headline Facts
What’s Actually Included
At launch, Forever adds three new zones — Mount Hyjal, Riverglades, and Shen’dralas — plus a fourth zone, Zephras Isle, built as the starting experience for a new playable race called the Skyborne Elves. Beyond that: over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons spanning levels 13 through 60, three raids (unlocking five weeks after launch), a new 15v15 battleground called Darkspear Islands, and two entirely new systems — Legacy, an account-wide progression track, and Camping, a social system built around outdoor campsites.
The Skyborne Elves come with a real catch — access to the race isn’t included with a standard subscription.
