WoW Forever Camping System Explained

Camping turns Forever’s old Cooking Fire ability into a full social system — anywhere in the open world, players can craft a campsite that offers vendors, repairs, crafting stations, and one-hour buffs to anyone who stops and sits down.

The Core Idea

As Associate Production Director Clay Stone put it, “almost anywhere in the open world, players can craft a campsite.” Other adventurers can stop by, contribute using their own professions, and everyone present gets a buff — but not instantly. The buffs specifically require sitting for a moment first, a deliberate design choice meant to nudge players into actually talking to each other rather than just clicking through a menu.

What a Campsite Offers

Feature Details
Vendors Access while camping
Repairs Access while camping
Crafting stations Profession-specific stations become available
Buffs One-hour duration, granted by sitting at the campsite
TIP

A basic campfire holds up to 3 crafted objects at once. Each individual player can only place one object, on a one-hour cooldown — so filling a campsite requires more than one person contributing.

Confirmed Profession Objects

Profession Object Effect
Blacksmithing Sharpening Wheel Increases Attack Power
First Aid First Aid Kit Increases Stamina
Herbalism Incense Candle Increases Intellect
Tailoring Faction Banner Increases Spirit
Alchemy Alchemy Lab Crafting station for flasks
Leatherworking Tanning Rack Required for advanced recipes
Cooking Upgraded Campfire Expands the campsite to hold 5 or 10 objects instead of 3
TIP

Campsite buffs don’t stack with matching class abilities — the First Aid buff, for instance, won’t stack with a Priest’s Power Word: Fortitude. These are meant as a convenience for groups without the matching class, not a stacking bonus for those who already have it.

Tips & Tricks

Bring a mixed group if you want a full campsite. Since each player can only place one object, three different professions get you the maximum benefit from a basic campfire.

Level Cooking if you plan to camp often. It’s the one profession that upgrades the campsite itself rather than just adding a single buff object.

Don’t expect campsite buffs to stack with your class’s own similar ability. Check what you already have before assuming a campsite buff adds on top of it.
