World of Warcraft: Forever adds over 600 new profession recipes, reworks crafted food to grant experience alongside stats, and unifies hit and critical strike chance across melee, ranged, and spell attacks — part of a broader itemization pass touching nearly every dungeon drop in the game.

Professions Get a Real Overhaul

Change Details
New recipes Over 600 added across all professions and level ranges
Crafted food Almost all cooked food now grants a small experience bonus alongside its usual stat boost
Blueprint recipes Advanced recipes drop specifically from dungeon bosses
Design goal Profession choice should matter even at low levels, not just at max level
TIP

The Blueprint system ties professions directly into dungeon content — some of the most valuable recipes won’t come from trainers or vendors at all, but from specific boss kills. This connects directly to the Camping system, where several confirmed profession objects already tie into these expanded recipes.

Itemization: “Unsolving” Classic’s Gear Path

Blizzard’s stated goal is keeping Classic’s core gameplay feel while deliberately avoiding the fully solved, well-known gear paths the community has mapped out over two decades.

Change Details
Hit chance Spell, melee, and ranged hit chance are combined into one unified stat
Critical strike Spell, melee, and ranged critical chance are combined the same way
Weapon skill Rebalanced, though specifics haven’t been detailed
Healing items Now come with bonus damage attached, giving healers more to work with
Dungeon drops Every drop has been re-examined — memorable items stay memorable, weaker ones adjusted, hundreds of new drops added
Boss items Unique dungeon boss drops are now blue quality instead of the more common green
Set bonuses Reworked to feel more impactful
TIP

Combining hit and crit chance across all attack types is a real structural change from vanilla, where a caster and a melee character tracked these stats completely separately. Expect gearing conversations to shift once this is live.

Transmog Is Also Coming

Blizzard confirmed an optional, Classic-styled transmog system as part of the same wave of changes. It can be fully hidden if you’d rather see your character’s actual gear — this isn’t a forced visual overhaul.

Tips & Tricks

Don’t assume your old profession leveling routes are still optimal. With 600+ new recipes spread across all level ranges, some early efficiency picks from before may no longer be the best option.

Watch for Blueprint drops on dungeon bosses you might otherwise skip. These recipes aren’t available any other way, so a boss with weak combat loot could still be worth killing for its profession reward.

Recalculate hit and crit planning from scratch. Since these stats are being unified across attack types, gearing advice built around vanilla’s separate melee/ranged/spell tracking won’t carry over directly.
