New Combinations for Existing Races
Skyborne Class Access
The new Skyborne race splits its class list by faction, and unlike most races, it doesn’t get access to Paladin, Priest, or Warlock at all.
The Shaman/Mage split means Horde and Alliance Skyborne really do play differently as casters — neither side gets the same option. See our Skyborne Elves & Beta Access guide for what it costs to actually play them.
Tips & Tricks
Check both faction options before committing to a Skyborne caster. Since Shaman and Mage are mutually exclusive by faction, there’s no way to try both on the same character.
Watch for more racial ability details. Blizzard has confirmed that Forever is reworking racials to make each race feel more powerful, distinct, and meaningful, with two active and two passive racials per race. Some examples have already been revealed for existing races such as Dwarves and Undead, but the full racial changes — including the Skyborne racials — have not yet been detailed.
