Overview
Druid remains Classic’s most versatile class, able to fill any role with the right gear and talents, and Forever makes shapeshifting far less restrictive. Potions, weapon enchants and procs, and most objects now work without breaking your form,
Nature’s Grasp and
Omen of Clarity become baseline,
Revive adds an out-of-combat resurrection at level 12, and
Lacerate joins the Feral kit at level 42.
Tiger’s Fury is removed in favor of a new
Cat Form talent called
Shifting Power, and
Berserk and
Wild Growth arrive as new 31-point talents.
What Changed From Classic
Talent Trees
Structure stays Classic-minded: three trees and 51 points at level 60, with one-point gold milestone talents at 11, 21, and 31 points and a new one at 16.
Nature’s Grasp and
Omen of Clarity are no longer talents, since every Druid now learns them from the trainer. Each tree is covered below.

Balance Druid Talents
Balance gains new tools for sustaining damage over time and shaping its spell rotation.
Insect Swarm moves here from Restoration as the 16-point talent,
Nature’s Splendor lengthens your damage-over-time and healing-over-time effects, and
Eclipse rewards alternating
Wrath and
Starfire.
Moonkin Form now lets you cast every non-healing spell.
Feral Combat Druid Talents
Feral Combat gets its most distinctive changes in Forever.
Shifting Power and
Primal Bite share a new 16-point row, one for
Cat Form and one for
Bear Form, and
Berserk caps the tree at 31 points.
Tiger’s Fury is gone, and
Leader of the Pack‘s critical strike aura now covers the whole raid.
Restoration Druid Talents
Restoration keeps the Druid’s heal-over-time identity and gains
Wild Growth at 31 points.
Swiftmend moves much earlier in the tree as the 16-point talent and no longer consumes your heal-over-time effect, and
Gift of the Earthmother speeds up your key heals.
New and Changed Abilities
These are the new and changed baseline abilities every Druid gets, regardless of talents.
Race Options
Druid stays open to Night Elf on the Alliance side and Tauren on the Horde side. The new Skyborne race also plays Druid on both factions, with raceexclusive shapeshift forms: High Order Skyborne on the Alliance and Windshaper Skyborne on the Horde. Racial abilities now work while shapeshifted, so your race’s active abilities no longer cost you your form.
Tips & Tricks
Stay in form for potions, weapon enchants, and objects. Potions, almost all similar consumables, weapon enchants and procs, and most doors and objects no longer cancel your shapeshift, so you can hold an animal form through an entire pull.
Use
Shifting Power as your Energy reset. It converts 55% of your base Mana into 40 Energy on a 16-second cooldown, and it can’t be used while you’re already at full Energy.
Don’t plan on bear-weaving.
Bear Form stops Energy regeneration, so refill Energy in
Cat Form with
Shifting Power instead of swapping forms.
Gear for Defense as a bear tank.
Thick Hide now turns Defense skill from your buffs and items into extra Armor in your forms, so Defense gear helps Druid tanks the way it helps other tanks.
Bring both critical strike auras to a raid.
Moonkin Form covers spell critical strike and
Leader of the Pack covers melee and ranged critical strike, and both now reach the whole raid, so a Balance and a Feral Druid no longer overlap.
Aim
Wild Growth at the party that needs it. It heals the target’s whole party, pets included, over 7 seconds, with a 6-second cooldown and a high Mana cost.
