WoW Forever Skyborne Elves and Beta Access: What It Actually Costs

World of Warcraft: Forever itself is free with an existing subscription, but the new Skyborne Elves race is not — it’s locked behind a paid pack starting at $29.99, and beta access specifically requires an even more expensive tier. Here’s exactly what each price point gets you.

For the full announcement roundup, see our WoW Classic Plus / Forever hub.

The Base Game Is Free — The New Race Isn’t

An active WoW subscription or Game Time is all you need to play Forever itself at launch. The Skyborne Elves and their dedicated starting zone, Zephras Isle, are a separate, paid upgrade — not included with a standard subscription at all.

Edition Price Includes Beta Access?
Subscription / Game Time only Existing WoW cost Base Forever access. No Skyborne race. No
Skyborne Heroic Pack $29.99 Skyborne race, Zephras Isle starting zone, early name reservation, a ground mount, cosmetics No
Skyborne Epic Pack $59.99 Everything in Heroic, plus beta access, 30 days of Game Time, additional cosmetics and pets Yes
Warcraft Forever Collection $79.99 Everything in Epic, plus Warcraft III: Reforged and Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom Yes
TIP

If beta access is your only goal, the $29.99 Heroic Pack won’t get you there — you need at least the $59.99 Epic Pack. Buying Heroic specifically to play beta on September 17 will leave you locked out.

Tips & Tricks

Decide what you actually want before you buy. If you only care about playing WoW Forver and don’t need the Skyborne specifically, your existing subscription already covers that.

Don’t buy the Heroic Pack expecting beta access. It’s a real, easy mistake given how close the tiers sound — Epic is the actual floor for beta.
