Overview

Sunken Temple’s main quest list is organized into a real, interconnected chains rather than a flat collection of pickups. Class specific quests get their own dedicated guide given how much they involve.

Faction Chains

NOTE

Both faction chains start well outside Sunken Temple — Alliance through Un’Goro Crater and Feralas, Horde through the same general path with different NPCs — before eventually sending you into the dungeon for the same core objective. Don’t expect to pick these up locally.

The Circle Chain

This chain is shared by both factions once you’re past the first step, and it’s the one that actually gates the statue puzzle.

1	The Sunken Temple	Alliance: Angelas Moonbreeze, Feralas. Horde: Witch Doctor Uzer’i, Feralas. Find Marvon Rivetseeker in Tanaris
2	The Stone Circle	Retrieve a Stone Circle from a chest in Ratchet, then return to Marvon Rivetseeker
3	Into the Depths	Head into the dungeon and reach the Altar of Hakkar
3 (parallel)	Secret of the Circle	Activate the six statues in the correct order — South, North, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast — then click the Idol of Hakkar that appears

Secret of the Circle is the exact quest completed by the statue sequence covered in our Statue Order guide. You’ll receive both Into the Depths and Secret of the Circle at the same time from Marvon Rivetseeker, so pick up both before heading in.

Standalone Quests

After the Final Boss

Defeating the Shade of Eranikus drops the Essence of Eranikus. Carry it to the Stone Essence Pool at the back of the room and use it there to properly complete the quest and put Eranikus to rest.

This is easy to miss if your group leaves immediately after the kill. The turn in location is right there in the same room, not somewhere you need to travel to.

Tips & Tricks

Pick up both Into the Depths and Secret of the Circle together. They’re handed out at the same time from the same NPC — no reason to grab one without the other.

Start The God Hakkar chain well before you plan to run the dungeon. It requires completing Screecher Spirits first, which isn’t a quick pickup.

Don’t forget the Essence of Eranikus turn in. It happens immediately in the same room as the kill, and skipping it means missing the objective entirely.

Treat the faction chains as a separate errand, not a same-day pickup. Both route through Un’Goro Crater and Feralas before ever mentioning the dungeon directly.
