Patch Classic WoW

Overview

The Scepter of Celebras is what lets your group skip both of Maraudon’s outer wings entirely, teleporting straight to Earth Song Falls and Princess Theradras. Getting one means clearing real content first — this isn’t a simple drop, it’s a two boss chain that ends in watching a boss transform into an ally.

GOOD TO KNOW

Once you have the Scepter, it’s yours permanently — this isn’t a one time use item. Every future Maraudon trip can skip straight to the good part.

Step One: Legends of Maraudon

Step Action
1 Pick up Legends of Maraudon from Cavindra, found near the Orange Wing entrance.
2 Head into the Orange Wing and defeat Noxxion, looting the Celebrian Rod.
3 Head into the Purple Wing and defeat Lord Vyletongue, looting the Celebrian Diamond.
4 With both items in hand, continue toward Celebras the Cursed.
NOTE

There’s no point fighting Celebras before you have both the Rod and the Diamond — the next step requires both items, so make sure your group has cleared both wings first.

Step Two: The Ritual

Defeat Celebras the Cursed, and something unusual happens: he doesn’t just die. He transforms into Celebras the Redeemed, a friendly NPC standing in the same spot.

Step Action
1 Talk to Celebras the Redeemed after his transformation.
2 Accept The Scepter of Celebras quest.
3 Watch him perform the forging ritual at a nearby altar.
4 Complete the quest to receive the Scepter of Celebras.

Using the Scepter

The Scepter doesn’t work just anywhere. Take the middle path where the purple and orange routes diverge, and follow it until you reach the Spirit of Kolk. Directly behind him is a small room with four braziers — this is the only spot where using the Scepter actually opens the teleport to Earth Song Falls.

If you’re standing in the wrong spot, using the Scepter simply won’t do anything. Make sure your group is specifically in the brazier room behind Spirit of Kolk before trying to activate it.

Tips & Tricks

Clear both wings in whichever order suits your group. Noxxion and Lord Vyletongue don’t need to be killed in a specific sequence — just make sure both are dead before approaching Celebras.

Don’t skip watching the forging ritual. It’s a short, distinctive moment that’s easy to miss if your group immediately moves on after accepting the quest.

Remember the exact activation spot for future trips. The brazier room behind Spirit of Kolk isn’t obvious on a first visit, and forgetting where it is wastes real time on repeat runs.

Treat this as a one time investment, not a recurring cost. Once your group — or even just one player — has the Scepter, every future Maraudon run benefits from the shortcut.
