Overview
Nalpak and Ebru stand in a hidden alcove in the mountain directly above the Wailing Caverns entrance in the Barrens. To reach them, climb the mountain behind the skull-shaped entrance, work around to the side facing the oasis, and drop down onto a narrow ledge that leads into the alcove. Nalpak gives Deviate Hides and Ebru gives Deviate Eradication, and both quests are completed inside the dungeon.
The alcove isn’t on the way to anything else, so you won’t pass it during a normal dungeon run. Finding it takes a deliberate climb before you ever set foot inside the instance.
Nalpak and Ebru Location
This is a real fiddly jump, and it can take a few attempts to land in the right spot. If you miss, you’ll likely fall further down the mountainside — just climb back up and try again rather than assuming you’re in the wrong general area.
Once inside, you’ll find several Disciples of Naralex NPCs sharing the same alcove — Nalpak and Ebru are among them.
Deviate Hides
Deviate Hides is picked up from Nalpak. You need 20 Deviate Hides, which drop from the Deviate creatures inside the instance, such as Deviate Coilers, Stalkers, Lurkers and Ravagers. They’re a normal drop rather than a skinning item, and Wowhead’s loot data puts the chance at about one in four or five per kill, so expect to clear a lot of Deviates. Completing it rewards your choice of 
Slick Deviate Leggings or 
Deviate Hide Pack.
Deviate Eradication
Deviate Eradication is picked up from Ebru. You’ll need to kill 7 each of Deviate Ravager, Deviate Viper, Deviate Shambler, and Deviate Dreadfang inside the instance — a real kill count, not a quick tally. Completing it rewards your choice of 
Pattern: Deviate Scale Belt, 
Sizzle Stick, or 
Dagmire Gauntlets.
Tips & Tricks
Pick up both quests before you head into the instance proper. Since the alcove isn’t on your normal path, grabbing both here first means you won’t need to backtrack out and climb back up mid run.
Loot every Deviate you kill. Deviate Hides drop roughly one time in four or five, so skipping corpses makes the quest drag on much longer than it needs to.
Don’t rush the jump into the alcove. A failed attempt just means climbing back up, but a careless one can send you tumbling further than expected.
Choose your Deviate Eradication reward based on your class, not habit. Pattern: Deviate Scale Belt, Sizzle Stick, and Dagmire Gauntlets serve different roles entirely — pick whichever actually fits your character.
