Overview
Maraudon is a sprawling cave system beneath Desolace, split into two outer wings that both feed into one inner area, Earth Song Falls, where the dungeon’s real prize waits: Princess Theradras. A full clear through both outer wings takes over an hour, but there’s a well known shortcut that most experienced groups actually use instead.
The
Scepter of Celebras lets your group teleport directly to Earth Song Falls, skipping both outer wings entirely. See our full Scepter of Celebras guide for how to get one, and our Princess Run guide for how experienced groups use it to farm efficiently.

Boss Quick Reference
Rotgrip and Tinkerer Gizlock are both fully optional relative to reaching Princess Theradras. Most efficiency focused groups skip both unless they specifically want the loot either one drops.
Critical Mechanics
Princess Theradras’s Dust Field punishes bad positioning
She periodically knocks back anyone standing close to her while also damaging them — and if you’re near an edge when this happens, you can be thrown off entirely. Keep the fight centered, away from any drop-offs.
Landslide’s stomp stuns the whole group for 5 seconds
Combined with his knockback on the tank, this fight punishes poor positioning more than raw damage. Keep the tank’s back to a wall to prevent being thrown out of position during the stun window.
Notable Loot
Quests
Maraudon carries a quest list beyond the
Scepter of Celebras chain, including one quest that only becomes available after Princess Theradras is dead. See our complete Maraudon Quests Guide for the full breakdown.
Tips & Tricks
Decide on full clear vs. Scepter run before you start. These are two truly different experiences — a full clear takes well over an hour, while a Scepter equipped group can reach Princess Theradras in under 45 minutes.
Skip Rotgrip and Tinkerer Gizlock unless you want their specific loot. Neither is required to progress toward Princess Theradras.
Position Princess Theradras away from ledges before you commit to the fight. Her Dust Field knockback becomes far more dangerous near any drop-off.
Bring real crowd control or burst damage for Noxxion’s split phase. Letting the spawned adds linger just extends a fight that doesn’t need to run long.
