Stratholme Quests Guide (WoW Classic)

Overview

Stratholme’s quest list is truly enormous — one of the largest of any Classic dungeon, spanning both sides and reaching well beyond the instance itself into Eastern Plaguelands, Western Plaguelands, and even Scholomance. This guide breaks it down by side, with the longer chains explained separately since they’re not simple pickup-and-turn-in objectives.

The Cross-Side Connection

The Medallion of Faith and Aurius’ Reckoning aren’t separate objectives — they’re two halves of the same mechanic. Find the Medallion of Faith on the Living Side, in a strongbox behind Malor the Zealous, and turn it in to Aurius. Once that’s done, Aurius will actually join your group and fight alongside you against Baron Rivendare on your Undead Side run. After the fight, talking to him completes Aurius’ Reckoning, rewarding your choice of Will of the Martyr or Blood of the Martyr.

The Long Chains

Menethil’s Gift isn’t a single quest — it’s the fourth step of a six part chain starting with “The Human, Ras Frostwhisper,” continuing through Scholomance content, before eventually leading back into Stratholme to place a specific item on the ground near Baron Rivendare’s room.

Of Love and Family has its own long lead-in, starting with Tirion Fordring in Eastern Plaguelands and passing through several intermediate quests before you’re even sent to retrieve the actual painting.

Above and Beyond doesn’t end when you loot the Head of Baron Rivendare — turning it in at Light’s Hope Chapel opens up further Eastern Plaguelands quests, eventually rewarding your choice of a named Argent-affiliated weapon.

Tips & Tricks

Start the Medallion of Faith chain before your Undead Side run, not during. Having Aurius fight alongside you against Baron Rivendare is a real help, and it only works if the turn in happens ahead of time.

Don’t burn the Scarlet Archive before looting the painting. This is one of the most common avoidable mistakes players make when running both Living Side quests together.

Treat Menethil’s Gift as a multi session project, not a single dungeon quest. It spans Scholomance content too — don’t expect to knock it out in one Stratholme run alone.

Follow through on Above and Beyond if you’re going for the weapon reward. The Head of Baron Rivendare turn in is just the first step; the real reward comes later in the chain.
